“I decided to apply to VCLA to learn more about Ventura County and ways in which I could be of service to our The exposure to so many elements and environments that comprise our county meant so much towards developing an expanded view of the needs that face our community. VCLA opened my eyes and made me take a look at areas that I glanced over before. The knowledge shared with presenters and cohort members fostered an in depth view to greater awareness and action. Each one of the cohort members has become very special to me. Most of our different perspectives that may have previously caused discomfort, became a basis for drawing closer and educating one another to always seek information before forming an opinion. The opportunity to attend a college-like environment was invigorating and one that I cherish.”
